GMT

GMT is a composite material where a glass fiber mat reinforces a thermoplastic matrix, commonly polypropylene (PP). It is supplied as a semi-finished sheet ready for compression molding. It is favored for its low density, high impact resistance, and durability, even at low temperatures. GMT is widely used in the automotive industry for semi-structural parts like underbody shields and front-end carriers as a lightweight substitute for metal.
